THC drinks vs CBD drinks: how to tell them apart

Updated October 16, 2026

The difference between THC drinks and CBD drinks is the compound inside. THC drinks carry THC, and CBD drinks carry CBD. Both can be made from hemp, so the word hemp alone does not tell them apart. The label names the compound.

Shoppers can sort the two in three places: the front label, the product name and the lab report. Kronton makes hemp-derived THC beverages, sold as ready-to-drink Elixir flavors. Each Elixir flavor page links to its own lab report inside the product description.

What separates a hemp THC drink from a CBD drink

Hemp plants contain many compounds. THC and CBD are two of the most familiar. A drink maker picks which compound goes into the formula and names it on the package.

A hemp THC drink lists THC, often as hemp-derived THC. A CBD drink lists CBD, often as hemp-derived CBD or a CBD extract. Some drinks list both, and the label names each one.

Because both types can share the same plant source, the compound name is the clearest sorting point. Words like hemp, botanical or plant-based describe a source, not the compound.

What are CBD infused drinks?

CBD infused drinks are beverages with CBD added to the liquid. They come in sparkling water, tea, coffee and soda styles. The front of the can or bottle usually prints CBD near the brand name.

THC drinks come in similar styles, so the package shape rarely helps. A seltzer can of each type may look almost the same on a shelf.

Kronton lists hemp-derived THC beverages. Every Elixir product page names hemp-derived THC among its label facts.

Where to look on the label

Start with the front panel, then turn the package. Check these spots in order:

  1. The front panel: look for the words THC or CBD near the product name.
  2. The product name: some names include the compound or a format word such as Elixir, seltzer or soda.
  3. The ingredient list: the extract is named here, such as hemp-derived THC or CBD extract.
  4. The batch or lot code: note it so it can be matched to a lab report.

For a full walk through each panel, see How to Read a THC Drink Label.

Telling them apart in an online listing

Online, the product title and description replace the front panel. Look for the compound named in the title, the feature list and the description text.

Kronton product pages list label facts for each Elixir. These include hemp-derived THC, live rosin, ready-to-drink and shelf-stable. The Strawberry Cough Splash and Mango Slushie pages also list 12.68 fl oz, 375ml.

Using the lab report link

A lab report names the compounds a lab found in a sample. Kronton places a lab report link inside the product description on each Elixir page.

Check three things on the report against the package in hand: the product name, the product format and the lot or sample reference. A matching product name on its own is not a match.

A lab sample reference is not always the same number as the batch code on a package. When the two do not line up, ask the store through the contact page.

Notes for store owners

Many stores shelve THC and CBD drinks in separate sections with clear signs. Putting the compound name on shelf tags saves shoppers from turning every can.

Stores apply for a Kronton wholesale account at the wholesale page. Approved accounts see wholesale prices on the three Elixir flavors when they sign in. Zigg Distro also distributes Kronton to stores.

Staff who know where the compound name appears can answer shopper questions faster. The Elixir collection shows each flavor page and its label facts.
