THC Drinks vs Edibles vs Smoking: A Format Comparison
Updated October 2, 2026
A THC drink is a liquid you sip from a bottle, a THC edible such as a gummy is a solid piece you chew, and smokable flower is dried plant material that is smoked. This page compares the three only as formats: how each is made, how it is packed, stored and carried, and what its label and lab document show.
Kronton makes one of the three. Kronton Elixir is a ready-to-drink, hemp-derived THC drink made with live rosin, in three flavors and a three-bottle bundle. Where this page needs a drink example, it uses Elixir and links each product.
This page does not compare timing, strength or experience. Kronton does not publish that comparison, so it is left out. What a label and a catalog can show is here.
Three formats at a glance
| Format | What it is | How it is sold | Involves smoke? |
|---|---|---|---|
| THC drink | A ready-to-drink liquid. Kronton Elixir is made with live rosin. | By the bottle. Kronton Elixir is a 375 ml (12.68 fl oz) bottle. | No |
| Gummy | A chewable edible piece. Gummies can be made with live rosin or live resin. | By the pack of pieces | No |
| Flower | Dried plant material, not an extract | By weight | Yes, when it is smoked |
A drink and a gummy are both swallowed rather than smoked, which is why the two are so often compared. Flower is the format that involves smoke.
How a THC drink, a gummy and flower are made
Kronton Elixir uses hemp-derived THC from live rosin, not distillate or isolate. Live rosin is a solventless concentrate made from fresh-frozen plant material. Each flavor is made with a labeled live rosin type: Cotton Candy with Hybrid, Strawberry Cough Splash with Sativa and Mango Slushie with Indica. It comes ready to drink, with no mixing.
Some gummies are made with live rosin, which is solventless, and others with live resin, which is extracted with a solvent. Both start from fresh-frozen plant material.
Flower is the dried plant itself, not an extract. In THCa flower, heat turns THCa into THC. That happens slowly as flower dries and quickly when it is smoked.
Package type and size
- Kronton Elixir, single flavor: one 375 ml (12.68 fl oz) bottle.
- Kronton Elixir Premium Bundle: three bottles in one box, one each of Mango Slushie, Cotton Candy and Strawberry Cough Splash.
- Gummies: sold in packs. The piece count is on that product's own label.
- Flower: sold by weight. The net weight is on that product's own label.
For a drink, the bottle is the unit you compare. Each Elixir product page lists THC content per bottle and per serving, and each bottle's label states its THC content per serving.
Storage and shelf life
Each Kronton Elixir product page describes the drink as shelf-stable. The product pages do not state a storage temperature or a rule for an opened bottle, so follow the label on the bottle in hand.
Gummies and flower carry their own storage instructions on their own packages. This page does not set one for them, because those instructions belong to each brand's label.
Flavor and ingredients
| Flavor | How Kronton describes it | Live rosin type |
|---|---|---|
| Cotton Candy | The sweet, airy flavor of spun sugar | Hybrid |
| Strawberry Cough Splash | Ripe strawberry with a smooth, clean finish, named for the Strawberry Cough cultivar | Sativa |
| Mango Slushie | Ripe mango with a cool, slushie-smooth finish | Indica |
A gummy carries its flavor in the candy itself. For a full ingredient list on any format, read the package in hand.
Carrying and opening
A drink travels as a bottle. Kronton Elixir is ready to drink and needs no mixing. Each bottle holds 375 ml (12.68 fl oz).
A gummy travels as a pack of solid pieces. Flower is smoked, so it involves smoke where it is used.
Labels and COAs across formats
Whatever the format, read two things: the label on the package and the COA, the lab document the brand links for that product. On Kronton, each Elixir product page opens with a COA link for that flavor, and the Premium Bundle page links all three.
- Check the product name on the report against the package.
- Check the product format: a drink report for a drink, a gummy report for a gummy.
- Check the lot or sample reference on the report against the packaging in hand. A matching product name on its own is not a match.
- Remember that a laboratory sample reference is not always the same number as the batch code printed on a package.
A product with no report published here is not a product without a report, and a published report is not by itself proof that it covers the lot in hand. Ask the store when the two do not line up.

A THC drink is a liquid sold by the bottle and ready to drink. An edible such as a gummy is a solid piece you chew, sold by the pack. As formats, they differ in package, storage and how you carry them.
Is a THC drink an edible?
Both are swallowed rather than smoked, which is why they are often compared. As a format, a drink is a liquid sold by the bottle, while a gummy is a solid sold by the pack.
How is a THC drink packaged compared with gummies?

Does a THC drink involve smoke?
No. A drink is sipped. Smoke comes in only with smokable formats such as flower.
How should THC drinks and gummies be stored?
Follow each package. Kronton describes Elixir as shelf-stable, and its product pages do not state a storage temperature, so read the bottle label. Gummies carry their own instructions.
